Like Cuisinaire rods for learning math, the tiles are proportionally sized in relation to the time values, with rhythms on one side and corresponding rests on the other. By matching the time signature blocks with their correct bases, you create just enough room for the correct number of notes and rests to fit in that measure. Arrange the rhythms into different meters and speak or play them. Ages 4 and up.
Choose from these options:
- Level 1 (1716) has basic rhythms in 3/4, 4/4, 6/8. 32 plastic tiles, 2 holders, and ear training CD
- Level 2 (28137) supplements the Level 1 set with the addition of 6 time signatures (Cut Time, 2/2, 2/4, 4/8, 12/8, and 6/4) and adding more complex notes (quarter note triplets, eighth note triplets, sixteenth notes, as well as a dotted whole note). There are 31 pieces in the Level 2 set, which all can be used with the Level 1 set. 28 tiles and 3 holders.
