Most pieces include words so everyone can participate regardless of how many drums you have. Other percussion used are shakers, cowbells, finger cymbals, rhythm sticks, etc., plus bean bags and tennis balls. Sequential teaching emphasizes musical form (unison, canon, binary, ternary, rondo), expressive dynamics, and good playing technique.
The pieces have suggested seated or standing formations in circles, squares, concentric circles, parallel lines, semi-circles, snakes, free space, according to drum size, etc. (our Music-Go-Rounds Blank Dots (28032)) are helpful for positioning these formations!)
Kids will enjoy choreographing their own classroom or public performances.
