The Children's Drawings and Poems from Terezin Concentration Camp, 1942-1944.
15,000 children under the age of 15 passed through the Terezin Concentration Camp: less thatn 100 survived. This camp (called Theresienstadt in German) was filled with culture, due to the high proportion of artists and intellectuals. These drawings, poems, and writings of these children, who were uprooted from all they knew, haunt us with their fear, their hope, their courage, their witness.
This book inspired Charles Davidson to write a choral song cycle based on these poems.
