Actions songs are fun, enhance language development, develop sequencing ability, use both sides of the brain—as Denise Gagne says, they are "choreographed wiggling".
The actions aid some children in remembering the lyrics, enhance their language development and help children develop patterning and sequencing abilities. They also help them develop hand-eye coordination and finger dexterity. Finger games will help to develop the fine muscle coordination needed later in music classes to play the recorder, barred instruments, ukelele, guitar, or piano.
Songs include both old and new favorites pitched in keys that go no lower than middle C - perfect for children's singing voices. CD contains over 50 minutes of music in a split-track format that works well for rehearsal or performance. Grades PreK-2.
