A visual saves words, so show the four types of voices—whisper, speak, sing, shout—then ask students to read and sing each of them in combination using the poems/chants provided or your own.
- Replace a voice card with the “clap” card or the “think” card (for inner hearing).
- Ask kids to sing the shapes on the exploration cards.
- Use the pat, step, and clap cards to get the kids switching gears rapidly.
- Older kids can switch between “beat” and “rhythm” cards to understand the difference.
