Their youthful exuberance and spontaneity as they rehearse is so much fun to watch. InThe Greatest Sorrow, witness the last 20months of Schubert's life. He died young, his genius unrecognized, under the shadow of a towering Beethoven. In the words of Nupen, this film "uses Schubert's words and music to try and help the viewer to feel closer to what the composer himself felt and was trying to say". Sensitively and beautifully done.
