39 Interactive Listening Lessons by Donna Dirksing.
Share the joy of classical music with your students while encouraging them to shake out those sillies! Children move to classical works to introduce, review, or assess instruments, and concepts such as dynamics, form, melody, and tempo. They absorb the music and concepts as they move and listen.
Introduce each member of an instrument family by showing a picture and listening to the suggested music (YouTube link given for each), i.e. Prelude to G-Major Suite by Bach for the cello, and Prince of Denmark's March for the trumpet. Major/minor is heard in Farandole by Bizet. Forte/piano in Playful Pizzicato by Britten. Several musical choices are given for each. PreK-Gr.1
Online resources and reproducible worksheets to extend learning are included.
